Borderlands 4 Is Out On September 12

It’s been a big week for Borderlands 4. Preorders for the highly anticipated shooter began, revealing that it will be priced at $70 and not $80 following some controversial comments from Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford.

The first hands-on previews for Borderlands 4 also dropped. GameSpot’s own Borderlands 4 preview explains that it feels like “an improvement over Borderlands 3” and “gives you exactly what you’re expecting.” At its core, Borderlands 4 capitalizes on the same looter-shooter formula the series is known for while introducing a new planet named Kairos for players to explore, and four new Vault Hunters to play as at release.

It does innovate for the franchise in some notable ways, though. Kairos is more of an open world than previous Borderlands areas. Players have a lot more movement options as they can now double-jump, hover, and grapple-hook around. Gun variance has been deepened as weapons can now have individual parts from different manufacturers, while legendary weapons drop less frequently. All of this should be more than enough to get a Borderlands fan excited, and we’re set to learn more during a Borderlands Fan Fest livestream on June 21.

If you can’t wait until then, we’re here to help. We’ve rounded up every officially released screenshot, as well as weapon and concept art, and are putting them all in one place. These images should tide you over until we see more of the game later this week and finally get to play the full thing in a couple of months.

Borderlands 4 launches for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 12 and is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
