In a recent statement, President Donald Trump accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of admitting that “half of the money we sent him is ‘MISSING.’” This assertion was made during a series of remarks in which President Trump labeled Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections” and criticized the management of U.S. financial assistance to Ukraine. 

Fact-Checking the Allegations

Contrary to President Trump’s claims, there is no evidence to support the assertion that half of the U.S. aid to Ukraine is missing. Multiple U.S. inspector general reports have found little to no evidence of missing weapons or aid. 

The confusion may stem from a statement by President Zelenskyy, who noted that Ukraine’s military has received only a portion of the more than $175 billion in U.S. aid earmarked for the war effort. This does not imply that funds are missing; rather, it reflects the allocation of resources to various channels, including direct military assistance, training, and other support mechanisms.
