But the set also includes a special treat for Twilight diehards, especially those on Team Edward: a hardcover copy of Midnight Sun, a retelling of Twilight told from Edward’s POV rather than the perspective of series protagonist Bella. Midnight Sun initially debuted online in 2008 via a massive, 12-chapter leak that author Stephanie Meyer ultimately uploaded to her personal blog, stating that she’d pick up writing the story again “once everyone’s forgotten about it.” Eventually, she finished the novel, which was first released in 2020.
