While there are many collectible items in Mouse: P.I. For Hire, none are more elusive than the ten Jack Pepper figurines. Unlike the comics, newspapers, and baseball cards, your menu doesn’t keep track of how many of them you have at any given time. The only way to check is to look on the shelf between your caseboard and bedroom in your PI Office.

Getting a whiff of the first figurine is easy, but locating any of the other nine is probably the FPS game‘s most difficult treasure hunt. Not only will finding them test your skills with unlockable abilities, but you’ll have to go over every scene with a fine-tooth comb. If you wish to hunt them down yourself, our Mouse: P.I. For Hire Beginner’s Guide gives you features you should be on the lookout for. However, there’s a high likelihood you’ll walk by any one of them, oblivious to their presence. Heck, the Mouse PI For Hire Quint’s Delight achievement is so off the beaten track that you probably did stroll straight past it! There’s no shame in that. So, to help with your plushie collection, we’ll list all of the missions where you’ll find them and give detailed locations for each.

Secret Collectible #1 – P.I. Office

Head into John’s Bar and go into the kitchen. Right at the back, there is a lock you can pick, leading into the basement. At the bottom, go to the back of the room to find the first of ten Secret Collectibles.

Secret Collectible #2 – Cheeseball Sub

This is quite a long level to get through before you can locate the room with the figurine, and it’s very out of the way. A long time after beating the boss and making your way through many areas that test your propeller tail hovering skills, you’ll find a typewriter sandwiched between a ladder and a locked door. The ladder leads to the Cheeselegger Foreman, so don’t go up there, or you’ll be locked away from this secret collectible.

While it’s not one that permanently jams shut, it is a timed lock with spikes, so you’ll need to get through the maze quickly. Once you crack it open, you’ll find a daunting room. Flip the switch to activate the fans, and rise up to the rafters. You’ll find a conveniently placed barrel next to the “Totally Normal Wall”, so go ahead and throw it next to the graffiti’d foundations. Blowing a hole will reveal a new room: a hidden cellar which contains the figurine and a handful of coins. If you somehow miss with the barrel, don’t despair, as your TNT also works.

Secret Collectible #3 – The House of the Empty Mouse

When you make it to the courtyard area outside of the mansion, there is a locked church just to the right of the main gate. To get inside, you need to take heed of the clue graffiti’d across its front: “For whom the bell tolls”. The nearby area has three such bells that you can shoot: one is at ground level by the house with the birdhouse above it, the second is on the tree in the courtyard, and the third is the church’s main bell on the roof. Shoot all three, and the doors will open. In the back room, you’ll find the Jack Pepper figurine near a closet.

Secret Collectible #4 – It All Points To Here, Right?

After speaking with the elephant, head back the way you came and up the ledge. You’ll find a locked door leading to another clue and a vent that takes you to the viewing gallery. After swiping the clue, you should see the janitor nearby and a key. Take the key and leave the room. Don’t go downstairs just yet. Instead, open up the nearby locked door. The warp pipe inside leads to a safe, but the door next to it has a dressing room table with your plushie prize proudly propped on top of it.

Secret Collectible #5 – ?lednaB evetS si lleH eht erehW

Unlike many of the others, tucked away behind puzzles and locks, this is a blink, and you’ll miss it situation. At the start of the section where you go into literal hell, you’ll come across a bar filled with enemies, including your first introduction to the cartoon Cacodemons. After killing them all, before heading upstairs, have a peek behind the bar. You’ll find a Jack figurine nestled between two coin stacks.

Secret Collectible #6 – The House of the Empty Mouse

Scattered throughout Bandel’s mansion are three Mon-keighs, statues with mouse-like primates. One is lying on the bed next to Bandel’s purple spades, towards the southern side of the house. Another one is at the very top of the middle chamber, just before the big hole in the ceiling with the suspended rope bridge, while the third is inside the barrel with the trampoline in it that you reveal after flipping a switch.

These all belong on the pedestals on the middle floor of the library in the northern part of the estate, but there is an order in which you place them. You may have heard the Japanese maxim represented by the three wise monkeys: “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.” This is the exact order in which you place them on the plinths from left to right. Doing so will open the bookshelf to your right, revealing a staircase leading to a small laboratory at the bottom. You’ll find the Jack Pepper collectible on the console at the back of the room.
