Crimson Desert might just be the perfect desert island game, as there’s no shortage of things to do when you go off the golden path. It’s a game full of activities and discoverable distractions that are there simply for the sake of being there–and that’s great! Ask anyone who has spent dozens of hours in Crimson Desert, and they’ll probably have a story to tell about an unexpected surprise they found along their journey.

From the mysterious bells in the Steel Mountains to discovering the hard way that the edge of the world is guarded by whales, Crimson Desert always has something up its metaphorical sleeve. Heck, even the game’s NPCs are fascinating. We’ve already discovered hundreds of things to do in the game, and we’re pretty certain that we’re just scratching the surface of what’s waiting to be discovered.

Don’t believe us? You can check out GameSpot’s new video that speedruns through everything we’ve found so far, or you can scroll down for a few dozen of our favorite discoveries, like Crimson Desert’s cats. Regular cats! Fat cats! Cats with hats! We love them all equally.

As an added bonus, the titles of each image below can be read to the sound of Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start the Fire, so good luck getting that jingle out of your head today.

With over 5 million units sold so far, Crimson Desert has been a hit with players. Pearl Abyss is working on some big updates for the fantasy adventure–and dealing with an AI scandal–including new difficulty modes and summonable mounts.
