The Super Mario Galaxy Movie remains in theaters and continues to rake in money, but when will it be available to buy, rent, and stream from the comfort of your couch? We don’t know for sure, but a new report, combined with historical precedent, suggests fans won’t have to wait much longer.

According to When to Stream, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will come to premium video-on-demand (PVOD) on May 5, with a streaming date to follow sometime after as is customary. Universal Pictures has not confirmed the May 5 date as of yet, but it wouldn’t be too surprising.

2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released on April 5 that year, was released on PVOD on May 16, which was six weekends after the movie hit theaters. Six weekends after The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s release on April 1 would be around the same time. Earlier this year, Universal Pictures announced a new policy whereby its 2026 film slate would stay in theaters for at least five weekends.
